What's your role on the NativeScript Team?
I'm the team lead of the core-modules team.
What's your background, professionally?
I have 10+ years of experience in programming. I started with some web projects on ASP.NET (that was back in the jQuery days). Then I joined Telerik (now Progress) and worked on UI components for WPF/Silverlight. Around 3 years ago I joined the NativeScript team and the exciting world of cross-platform mobile development. NativeScript was in the early stages of development back then, so I had the pleasure of watching it grow.
What challenges have you encountered while working on NativeScript?
The biggest challenge is deciding what to do next. The possibilities are practically infinite. It's like being in a candy store with hundreds of types of candy and you are only allowed to take only 2 or 3 at a time.
What is the most rewarding experience you've had while working on the team?
Just recently I got access to the firebase analytics console of a NativeScript application. The app had well over 200K *daily* users and some pretty strong reviews. That was AWESOME!
Tell us something interesting about your personal life!
I've been playing guitar since high school, but I got a bass guitar for my last birthday. Currently, I'm trying to arrange a Christmas jam with some friends and plan to bring in the bass instead of the guitar. Not sure if they will come if they know how much of a noob I am at playing those fat strings ... so "shhhhhh".
